Cocaine Found in Whitney Houston’s System Plus Marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril and Benadryl

The L.A. County coroner has confirmed what many expected but hoped wasn’t true: Whitney Houston’s death was a result of cocaine use and drowning.

The report stated that “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” led to the iconic singer’s demise on February 11, 2012, according to CNN.

Whitney Houston was found dead in her bathtub hours before a Grammy party that went on while authorities were still collecting evidence and transporting her body from the scene.

Many assumed that drugs may have played a part in Whitney’s death. The singer admitted several times that she struggled with substance abuse. However, it had been said that she was on her way back to sobriety.

The examination also indicated that marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril and Benadryl were found in her system. However, the coroner’s office doesn’t believe those drugs caused Whitney’s death.

Despite an allegation of foul play, there’s still no indication that Whitney’s death was anything more than an accident.
