Black History Month: City Kids Care

Every February we celebrate those who made history but this year I’m also celebrating those that are making history.

About 3 years ago I got a phone call from this guy Brandon Perry and at the time I never heard of a ‘City Kids Care’ but from the tone in his voice I could tell he was serious. At the time I was doing events in Youngstown and I was looking for people to team up with so his call was a blessing. He told me his plans for giving back to the city of Youngstown and I in return gave him all the info that I knew.

The reason I want to celebrate ‘City Kids Care’ becaus I know first hand how hard it is to pull off these events. You have the enemy (satan) in your ear constantly telling you that it won’t work. And you have to five so much out of your own pocket because it’s your idea and you are responsible for funding it. It takes a lot of time and it’s very stressful and we don’t profit off these events so it takes a lot out of you.

So today I want to thank ‘City Kids Care’ and all the other sponsors and volunteers that help make my hometown of Youngstown, Ohio a better place
