Christians That Drink Alcohol

20140618-155640-57400471.jpg

Are you a Christian that likes Alcohol? How often do you drink? Does being drunk change how people love The Lord? Is it OK to drink? Did Christ drink? Did Christ think it was ok for others to drink? I grew up thinking that saved people can’t drink. Now don’t get me wrong because I’m not saying grab some 40’s and let it rip until you throw up but I have had a glass of wine every once in a while. Maybe with dinner or just a sip with friends. But I don’t really like the taste or smell of alcohol so it’s not for me. Do you think it’s a sin to drink? Or how much becomes a sin?

I grew up thinking that if you drink you were going to HELL but over the years I learned that a lot of Christians practice good morals but have NO character. Some Christians will brag about not drinking or smoking but wouldn’t offer you a glass of water if you were thirsty. Some Christians have learned how to practice the art of having good morals but are just as nasty as can be when it comes to dealing with people.

My question is how to do you feel about Christians that drink?

Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to try mixed wine. Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly. In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder. Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart utter perverse things.

The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine; your anointing oils are fragrant; your name is oil poured out; therefore virgins love you. Draw me after you; let us run. The king has brought me into his chambers. We will exult and rejoice in you; we will extol your love more than wine; rightly do they love you. The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw. O Lord, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear? Or cry to you “Violence!” and you will not save? Why do you make me see iniquity, and why do you idly look at wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise. So the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth. 3. I go out and eat and order a drink sometimes, if I attend a wedding I’ll toast….would I buy a bottle and sit home alone and drink? No because chances are I’ll drink the ENTIRE bottle before I know what happened!!! You drink and smoke alot to help with issues or forget things, its an addiction if you have do it every day excessively, it’s running you!!!

  4. I’ll have a glass of wine by myself..enjoying my meal…I’ll have a tequila shot..out with friends… I’ll enjoy a sangria, mojito, mimosa, or whatever when socializing with friends or a chill kicked back evening by myself….doesn’t make it sinful…now if I were to get drunk…then yes I’ve fallen into sin…but because I don’t drink for the issues I used to…I don’t get drunk

  5. I mean it is what it is…we all fall short of the glory…every day we strive for perfection but at times we miss the mark…but still Sin is Sin….denying it doesn’t make it any less than that

  6. Praise God! ur delivered Kingsmen White!! It was a process but through Christ u are free!! I will always say out loud everyday “I am delivered, alcohol no longer controls my life!” AMEN!
