According to Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, when he’d written that the time would come when the government would try to silence the pastors in America in his book “God Less America”
Apparently that day has arrived in Houston, Texas through the power of the first openly lesbian mayor of the city, Annise Parker.
It’s reported that the city of Houston has demanded that several pastors turn over their sermons on anything about homosëxuality, gender identity, or the mayor of the city, in apparent revenge for opposition against the city’s new non-discrimination ordinance. The mayor’s office has backed up these demands by issuing subpoenas, so that if they refuse, legal action may be taken against them.
According to Christina Holcomb, attorney for the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the city council is attempting to quiet any opposition of actions they take. She added that the ADF has filed a motion in Harris County court to stop these subpoenas, which are “overbroad, unduly burdensome, harassing and vexatious.”
I read that this mayor is doing this in retaliation for a petition that was done after her city ordinance back in May allowed for all the public restrooms in Houston to become unisex so that for example if a man decides he’s a “woman” that particular day he can use the women’s restroom and if a business owner or anyone says anything they can be criminally prosecuted. This city ordinance (that the mayor announced was the most significant thing she had done while in office) got a lot of heat with a petition of signatures to overturn it and the bully mayor is going after certain churches/pastors in retaliation and to intimidate.

I understand that, that’s why I didn’t mention local city gov’t. I was just passing the info on the big picture of where it’s going to go based on the allegiance of the 501c3 Churches according to the state and their regulations. As far as city gov’t Wan Sheldon you are correct. This should light a fire under all of us to stand stall for GOD even more. “They” are and will come for us.

Dino 501c3 status isn’t regulated locally by city government, so this status doesn’t mandate compliance with a local request to submit sermons
This is a local mayor trying to control and violate Freedom of speech

This applies to 501c3 Churches. A 501c3 Church is an organization/corporation created by the state, therefore controlled by the state. A 501c3 Church has no rights per say, they are limited as far as speech. It’s all in the documents when filing. 501c3 Churches have only privileges. If these churches don’t comply, the state can seize control, dissolve the church, and take assets. The word “church” with small letters [lower case] means a group of worshipers, and the word “Church” which is capitalized, means a state “corporation” this is why the rights are limited due to state control based on the documents when filing. If a church or ministry files as a 501c3 Church under the state, they automatically sign away their rights as an organization under the constitution. This is all the work of Satan to take the true word of GOD out of the church, twist it and manipulate it to implement his plans of destruction, chaos, and to force pastors and ministers to convince the church that following Satan, the new world order laws of the land is in the word based on Romans 13! …….tapping my fingers because this chock has lost all her marbles. Just because she is gay doesn’t mean she has the right to infringe on someone else beliefs. She just violated folks rights on free speech and freedom to practice those religious beliefs.
