Cleveland police shot and killed a 12-year-old boy who was allegedly carrying an “airsoft” toy gun at a recreation center, police said. Tamir Rice, who was shot in the torso and went into surgery Saturday, died Sunday morning, police said. Two officers were placed on administrative leave.

Police said the officers were responding to a report of a person waving a gun around at a playground at the Cudell Recreation Center about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Tamir was shot after he allegedly refused to put his hands up and reached in his waistband for what appeared to be a handgun, police said.

  1. I cant even believe this….. i am loosing respect for the law enforcement community more and more. From the incident that happened with my boy to this…. ridiculous, they are turning America back into the wild west… this shoot first, ask later trend is getting way outta hand…. praying for this kids family, sad man smh…

  2. It gives them a pass to shoot to kill praying for all children before they are in a position to be killed or profiled.. praying for the wisdom and knowledge of all parents to find the words for important conversation to have with their children that will keep them alive, and that the parents think before being a catalyst in the senseless killing of our young people …don’t give them an excuse
