Ohio State made its case for a spot on the College Football Playoff in impressive fashion on Saturday, rolling over Wisconsin, 59-0, in the Big Ten Championship game in front of 60,229 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Buckeyes (12-1), who are ranked No. 5 in the playoff poll, scored less than two minutes into the game and never looked back. They punted only twice in the first half — one was a Big Ten title game record 73-yarder — and scored every way imaginable.

Sophomore quarterback Cardale Jones, starting for the first time in place of the injured J.T. Barrett, finished with three touchdown passes and was 12-for-17 for 257 yards. His three scores all went to senior Devin Smith, who had four catches for 137 yards while sophomore running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for 220 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His first was a championship game record 81-yarder.

  1. Ohio St should be #4 by 1230 today…they drug MI St at East Lansing and destroyed Wisconsin on a neutral field for the Big 10 Chip they they have played against and knocked off at least 4 of the top 15 defenses in the country and nobody can roll out their 3rd string QB on one weeks notice and mud stomp a team in the conference chip…NOBODY wants to play THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES period.

  2. We will be no. 3 above Florida state because Ohio state has blew out Wisconsin but Florida state has been having a lot of close calls with teams. Its not always about the record but the body of work.

  3. I think we will get in…we completely shut down #1 running back country and completely dominated #2 defense ….with our 3rd string QB…we are the juggernaut!!

  4. no way Ohio state shouldn’t be #4! Fsuperfect record is cool but bump them up to 3 because we should be in there. plus i wasn’t impressed with how fsu struggled last night w/ georgia tech

  5. Yes, I feel its enough but Condoleezza Rice is voting… Ohio St looked like a top 1/2 team in all phases of last nights game… very impressive & to do it with their 3rd string guy
