“Pharrell said, “The verdict hampers any creator out there who who is making something that might be inspired by something else,” and not just in music: “This applies to fashion, music, design… anything. If we lose our freedom to be inspired, we’re going to look up one day and the entertainment industry as we know it will be frozen in litigation.”” (HNHH

  1. So if I write a rap song inspired by outKast “bombs over Baghdad ” but I didn’t sample the record…I just rapped on it and used the same energy and rhyme scheme …I should be sued ? #bullshit

  2. Nonsense ….that is one of main reason for copy right laws to inspire creativity….you can be inspired by someone and create something unique …history full of examples…all sun had to do wAs give Marvin his credit in by lines and he would have walked away with most of the proceeds from the record

  4. I did some research and Marvin Gaye’s catalog only makes about $2 million a year. That $7.4 million got the Gaye family ready to get more!!! Smh

  5. Now t.i. Is being sued for just dropping a verse in the track so can you imagine every label has to research every track that comes in for an artist to see if it has any samples or if it’s similar to anything before the artist can record his verse
