The Supreme Court has found a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, striking down bans in 14 states and handing a historic victory to the gay rights movement that would have been unthinkable just 10 years ago.
Anthony Kennedy, a conservative justice who has broken with his ideological colleagues to author several decisions expanding rights for LGBT people, again sided with the court’s four liberals to strike down the state bans. The 5-4 majority ruled that preventing same-sex people from marrying violated their constitutional right to due process under the 14th Amendment and that the states were unable to put forth a compelling reason to withhold that right from people.
“It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage,” Kennedy wrote of same-sex couples. “Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves.”
“They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law,” he continued. “The Constitution grants them that right.”
The United States is now just the 21st country in the world to allow same-sex marriage in every jurisdiction.

I swear I read in the bible where it tells us to hate evil. I also recall seeing disciples, prophets and priest in the bible speaking against the sin of nations. JUDGMENT TO CONDEMN IS WRONG JUDGMENT SPOKE TO CORRECT IS COMMANDED AND APPROVED OF BY GOD. The reason this is such a hot subject is because people are trying to redefine the first LAWS of CREATION and FAMILY. Exactly Melody Dyer,there are more pressing issues to be concerned about than how people FEEL about same sex marriage!!!!!! And people are right; everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone got one just like a butt hole
I was taught to love all people also but i also what taught to have priorities also.I am not judging as not my job,opinions we all have a right to.My opinion in what i was saying was not against anyone all i was trying to say is there are more pressing issues going on around us around the world that need tended to for all our survival time on earth as a whole no matter of sex,creed,color,etc.
There are some negative,judgmental people in this world sad to say but so true. I support all love same sex or not and Pastors don’t have to perform marriages of the same sex if they choose not to that’s not a bad thing,but people kill me being judge, jury, lawyer, prosecutor and then call themselves Christians………. WOW so amazing
God defined marriage and those who go against God’s will have to answer.What angers me is there is so many more important issues that need to be tended to.The violence,homeless,high taxes,corruption of our nation ,etc the list could go on,When are we going to get justice for ALL.Insurance just went up,taxes,and now more prisons need to be built as if we don’t have enough over crowding now because now the significant other will be responsible for child support and when they don’t pay then they go to jail(or should) as well.And they get what they wanted at our expense.God be with us all as truly the time of reconning is coming.
