2018 is officially the year of the woman and Atlanta is one of the biggest hubs for female entrepreneurship. Understanding that female run businesses will provide over 5 million jobs in 2018, Legacy of Beauty founders Christal Jordan, Mychael Michelle and Larissa Von decided to host the inaugural Legacy of Beauty brunch at the beautiful Marke studios in Atlanta, GA on Sunday, March 25, 2018.

The Legacy of Beauty brunch was created with the mission of empowering young women across the country to dream big, pursue their passions and allow that pursuit to lead them to embracing the life they desire. The introductory brunch will be held in Atlanta, GA in celebration of several accomplished women who have acted as trailblazers in the world of beauty and entertainment.

“I wanted to create a support system for young women who wanted to go into business for themselves but didn’t have a clue where to start. I had ups and downs getting my business started and I wanted to use that to help other women avoid those same mistakes,” says Mychael Michelle, owner The Hair Rock cafe. Michelle enlisted the help of fellow salon owner Larissa Von, and entertainment publicist/author Christal Jordan, Enchanted Branding & Public Relations to create the Legacy of Beauty an organization designed to be a resource for females entering entrepreneurship, specializing in those looking to enter the beauty industry.

The kick-off for the organization is a beauty brunch that will honor eight trailblazing women in the beauty industry that have mastered their craft. “We selected these particular women because mentorship has always been a part of their success. We wanted women who make a habit of mentoring and encouraging other women,” Von explains.

The 2018 Legacy of Beauty honorees include; Coco White (Master hairstylist Tyler Perry Studios), Dr. Lissa Bootstaylor M.D. (Atlanta APC Plastic Surgery), Beatrice Espada, owner The Honey Pot Co, Jesseca DuPart, owner Kaleidoscope hair products, Mz. Shyneka and Alex, co-owners ReJu Spa, Kela Taylor, owner The Marke studios and Danielle James beauty editor Hello Beautiful.

“The honorees represent a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of entrepreneurship. Collectively they have been able to sustain a level of success in many different areas of business including distribution, marketing, branding and most importantly sustainability,” says Jordan. “We’ve also built-in an opportunity for entrepreneurship, so women can come a guest and leave a small business owner!”

The Legacy of Beauty brunch is being held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Marke studios located at 1210 Fowler St, Atlanta, GA 30318, 11 AM – 2PM. The Legacy of Beauty brunch is being sponsored by Hello Beautiful, BET Her (The Hair Channel), A-List Affairs, Beauty Klout and Rolling Out Magazine.
