ONE MUSICFEST TO HONOR MUSIC INDUSTRY ICONS JERMAINE DUPRI AND DALLAS AUSTIN DURING 10TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 7-8 IN ATLANTA

ONE Musicfest, the southeast’s premier urban progressive music and arts festival – will honor iconic super-producers Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin for their vast contributions to urban culture during a special on-stage ceremony at the 10th annual festival taking place September 7-8, 2019 at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta.  As architects of the sounds that led artists such as TLC, Mariah Carey and Usher to become household names, Dupri and Austin are not only musical visionaries but were early pioneers in putting Atlanta on the map as a creative epicenter.  Their recognition will mark the inaugural OMF Honors, a new platform to highlight the influence and innovation of culture creators. Dupri and Austin will receive the OMF Honors presentation on Sunday, September 8 in the 7pm hour on the main stage.  “As we celebrate 10 years of bringing the culture together on one stage, it was a no-brainer to honor two monumental figures who have been musical disruptors for decades,” says Jason Carter, founder of ONE Musicfest. “JD and Dallas represent the excellence, originality and authenticity that make urban culture so powerful.”

VIP JUDGES & ADVISORS ANNOUNCED FOR THE JOHN SINGLETON SHORT FILM COMPETITION

Colleagues of the late iconic filmmaker, John Singleton, are excited to serve as judges and advisors for the John Singleton embRACE L.A. Short Film Competition. The notable film and entertainment experts include: Stephanie AllainRobi ReedPaul HallPreston HolmesBobbi BanksDawn GilliamCamile TuckerErika Conner, and Pat Prescott.
Academy Award winners Spike Lee and Regina King have also shown support for the competition on social media.

“It’s heartwarming that John’s village of friends and colleagues are rallying to keep his flame burning by igniting other filmmakers dedicated to telling our stories,” explained Project Manager, Sherri G. Sneed, who worked with John Singleton in the early years of his career.
Interested filmmakers can take part in this major opportunity, to have their screenplay read by Hollywood insiders, when submitting their live-action short narrative script before the September 15th deadline. After a series of competition judging rounds, three winners will be awarded $20,000 each for the production and completion of a live-action narrative short film.
