Emmy-winning actor and current 2x NAACP Image nominee for his work in ABC’s Women of the Movement, Glynn Turman (Fargo, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) is coming off an incredible last year with buzz-worthy performances in a number of reputable projects with an incredible 2023 on the horizon. First up, Turman appears opposite Rita Moreno, Sally Field, Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin in the Paramount film 80 FOR BRADY, which is in theaters now. Up next, Turman has the release of his documentary THE LEGEND OF GLYNN TURMAN, which will be on all major platforms this summer (trailer is here: https://vimeo.com/658329085) and later this year, Hulu’s “Black Cake,” from Harpo Films, which reunites him with Women of the Movement star Adrienne Warren and Marissa Jo Cerar. Turman also wrapped filming on Netflix’s RUSTIN, the biopic on the Civil Rights icon which sees him reunite with former MA RAINEY co-star Colman Domingo and director George C. Wolfe in the film for the Obama’s Higher Ground production company.
Turman’s true “Glynn-aissance” is in full swing, coming off of his Emmy nomination in 2019 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama for his role as Nate Lahey Sr. in the Viola Davis starrer “How to Get Away with Murder.” He also had critically acclaimed and award garnering roles in the Oscar nominated film MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM, FX’s “Fargo,” opposite Chris Rock, a major arc on the David E. Kelley/Jack Bender series “Mr. Mercedes,” opposite Ben Affleck in the Gavin O’Connor-directed Warner Bros. film THE WAY BACK, and so many more.
