The network issued a statement Today saying, “Black Jesus is a satire and one interpretation of the message of Jesus played out in modern day morality tales; and despite what some may consider a controversial depiction of Jesus, it is not the intent to offend any race or people of faith.”

  1. I believe in the right to say what we want. As long as you’re not preaching HATE for anyone’s beliefs, trying to make any person seem less than you because they don’t believe like you believe. Pushing off your beliefs as the ultimate right, your fine. Perspective is everything. I do believe two of the principle things in Christianity are patience and forgiveness. Christ said something about the hecklers from the cross.. One thing to be Christian another to live it.

  2. I also think relationship with the spirit is very important too so we know by conviction. Even when I was in the streets I still I had respect and didn’t play around with God’s holy name!

  3. The reason this show is on the air is people are so removed from God that they don’t fear him like the bible days and they don’t think that curses come from blasphemy so they continue to disrespect Christ

  4. Angelo P Veal that’s the point JESUS didn’t SIN! And I’ll continue to go against this show and I won’t make any excuses for behavior based on where he is/was

  5. I mean really; has anyone ever asked themselves the question of what it might be like if Jesus was alive today? If he were a black man raised in say Compton or Youngstown… What would his life be like… Is it so bad to make a comedy of what it may be like? Or is that so unimaginable that it’s blasphemous to consider? Smh, so many of you have sentenced these people to burn in hell… Let he without sin cast the 1st stone. I’ll pile up the rocks and wait

  6. I had not seen the show. I just watched it. It really didn’t seem that bad. The Jesus character turned water to wine and really was spreading positivity among the people he talked to. Listen to the things people asked him for & what he offered in return. It wasn’t really that funny but… To me that was the only crime
