Apple TV+ debuts trailer for true-crime series “Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn”

Apple TV+ announced today the four-part documentary series “Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn,” telling the riveting story of CEO-turned-fugitive Carlos Ghosn and his relentless climb to the top of the corporate ladder, shocking arrest and unbelievable escape that stunned the world, will debut globally on Friday, August 25. The series features in-depth access to all of the key players in the saga, including Mike Taylor, the former Green Beret who orchestrated Ghosn’s harrowing escape, and the man in the middle of it all — Carlos Ghosn — who, for the first time, tells his side of this ongoing, global news story, from start to finish. “Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn” is executive produced by Academy Award winner James Gay-Rees (“Amy”) and Emmy Award winner Paul Martin (“Drive to Survive”) and directed by DuPont and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker James Jones (“Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes”).

With his video camera, Sam documents the riotous office as he and a motley mix of ex-cons, drug dealers and veteran telemarketers work the phone lines in an anarchic boiler room filled with booze, drugs, and debauchery, bound by humor and camaraderie. When the federal government shuts the company down after an investigation into its shady practices where they falsely told consumers that 100% of the money went to the charity (when in fact only 10-15% went), Sam and Pat Pespas, a larger-than-life top salesman struggling with addiction, begin to question the industry’s business practices. They realize they are unwitting cogs in a wheel perpetuating a massive scam on unsuspecting Americans. Through industry sources and obsessive muckraking, they learn that the industry’s corrupt ways run much deeper than just CDG. Just as they are gaining ground in their investigation, Pat unexpectedly disappears bringing their mission to a screeching halt.

Starz releases first-look photos of ‘Power Book IV: Force

Concert attendees caught the moment on camera, showing Monica, born Monica Denise Arnold, bring attention the situation. According to a report, the musician initially paused the show after witnessing a few audience members getting aggressive with each other, and waited for one man she specifically called out to be removed.

Mistrial Declared in YNW Melly Trial

On Saturday (July 22) in Broward County, Fla, a mistrial was declared in the double-murder case of YNW Melly, who is accused of murdering his friends YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser in October of 2018. The decision came after the jury was unable to come to a unanimous verdict.

Three months after his daughter Corinne Foxxrevealed that her dad had “experienced a medical complication,” a source tells PEOPLE that the actor “has been working really hard these last couple of months to get back to normal and has greatly improved since he first got to the facility.”

The source also reveals that Foxx, 55, recently had a party “to celebrate being better.” It was held at the Chicago rehabilitation facility he has been going to, says the source.

“He is still doing some outpatient rehab though,” they add.

Starter to Reintroduce Bronx Bubble Jacket

Starter and Major League Baseball are re-releasing the enduring Bronx Bubble jacket, an iconic piece that originally launched back in 1971.

As G-III Apparel Group president Carl Banks noted when launching the limited edition drop on Monday, the jacket is “widely recognized as an iconic and timeless piece of cultural legacy.” 

On July 25, the limited edition re-release will be celebrated at MLB’s New York City flagship during an event featuring a live performance from Jadakiss and a session with Flex. The jacket will be available in Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers designs in gold, silver, and blue. Presales will launch this month ahead of a wider November rollout.
