HULU ORIGINAL HISTORY OF THE WORLD, PART II BECOMES AN INTERACTIVE DIGITAL GAMING EXPERIENCE

Mel Brooks’ History of the World, Part I has influenced comedic cinema for 40 plus years and the cult 80s movie is finally getting an interactive gaming experience with its sequel, which both debuted on March 6.

History of the World, Part II premiered as a new eight-episode series on Hulu, and as an interactive digital gaming experience available to play online and on Xbox. In the digital gaming experience, fans encounter the show’s colorful characters voiced by the star-studded cast with Ike Barinholtz, Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes, and of course, the formidable Mel Brooks. The show’s mastermind is no stranger to video games, as Brooks has been involved with several previous gaming projects.

The interactive website version of the History of the World, Part II gaming experience embraces the crass humor and absurd silliness of the show (and makes no apologies) for an unforgettable, unique experience with plenty of memorable features like the fact that the world didn’t begin with a ‘big bang’ – it was actually ‘The Big Burp.’ Players will feel like they’re part of the show as they experience various historical recreations, from Amelia Earhart to Noah’s Dog Park, and more.

The History of the World, Part II digital gaming experience is available to download FREE on Xbox until March 31, 2023, and for desktop and mobile play until July 6, 2023.

The gaming experience will be demonstrated live during the week of March 6, as well-known gaming streamers experience the game live on Twitch. The game’s developers also have plans for an Xbox giveaway and there will be more historically hilarious surprises.

Mary J. Blige and Pepsi proudly announce the second annual Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit in partnership with Live Nation Urban. The festival returns to the vibrant city of Atlanta, GA, with four days devoted to music, comedy, female empowerment and community building between May 11th -14th, 2023. Presale tickets go live TODAY at NOON ET with code SOAW23, while general on-sale begins Friday, March 10th at 10 AM ET. For tickets, visit www.soawfestival.com.

Created and curated by Grammy-award-winning R&B songstress Mary J. Blige, Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit is the only festival experience in the market brought to you exclusively by an all-Black, female team and will return this spring to the hotbed for creativity and culture, Atlanta, GA. After selling out in less than 72 hours last year, the festival continues to bring what are sure to be iconic moments back to the State Farm Arena with two incredible nights of music:  the #HipHop50 celebration featuring rarely-performed hits by Mary J. Blige and friends in a special” MJB B-Sides” set; and a special R&B night with performances by the legendary Lauryn Hill, Summer Walker, Lucky Daye, Muni Long, and more.

This year’s festival is a clear “leveling-up” with an expanded footprint in the city and its programming, aiming to create even more opportunities for women and underrepresented groups to find community and joy. New to the festival this year is a special live music event with Grammy-Award winner Robert Glasper along with the Sunday night closing event–PURPOSE BALL, powered by Gilead, produced by Miss Lawrence and featuring a special performance from Saucy Santana. The PURPOSE BALL was created after connecting with friends and partners in the LGBTQAI community around how the festival could celebrate and honor their impact on popular culture—especially in Atlanta. After an extremely successful launch in 2022, and the overwhelming feedback from attendees, the female-led team is set to deliver bigger, better and more impactful programming for 2023 with support from returning and new partners this year, including Mielle Organics, CVS Health and Twitch.

As a 9x Grammy Award-Winning Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Producer, Philanthropist & Global Superstar, Mary J. Blige has committed the majority of her career to amplify, empower, and give voice to BIPOC women through the art of music and truth-telling. This multi-touchpoint festival, which focuses on Music, Wellness, Tech, Beauty, and Financial Literacy, is the evolution of her life’s mission and purpose.

“ I’m so excited to bring our Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit back to Atlanta for its second year, ” said Mary J. Blige, Founder of Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit. “Having the opportunity to continue to uplift, inspire, and build amongst a community of women is the reason why we created this festival. I’m so grateful for all of the support from our performers and participants and of course Live Nation Urban, Pepsi and our additional partners who are committed to celebrating and creating community for Black women.”

The Strength of a Woman festival is engaging with women more than ever before and returns as the go-to destination for inspiring programming, pivotal panels, musical performances, workshops, and much more! Following the success of its debut last year, Blige, and her partners Nicole Jackson, Vice President of MJB Inc., and Marketing Maven Ashaunna Ayars of The Ayars Agency will return this May with initiatives that further empower women of the BIPOC community. The festival is dedicated to curating a safe haven for women, led and assembled by women from production to performances that sustain the festival’s inaugural blueprint.

Jackson, Mary’s long-time business partner, shared, “ the popularity and impact of the inaugural Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit successfully showed how and why Black women are the blueprint for cultural relevancy and inclusion. Being able to look back and see the global reach the festival had through our livestream and billions of media impressions is confirmation that we are filling a void in the festival space. Mary, Ashaunna and myself are overjoyed to be back in Atlanta again and look forward to continued expansion in our programming and partnerships.”

Presented by Pepsi, the festival’s inaugural partner returns to support Blige and her impactful work on and off the stage in a shared mission to inspire the next generation of women. For the second annual festival, Pepsi will once again bring its powerful platform to the production and event experience as it activates throughout the festival grounds, including amplifying the musical experience for fans, elevating local women-led businesses, and more to engage the Atlanta community across the festival and summit.

“The Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit is a testament to the power of amplifying Black women and their voices – starting with Mary, someone whose vision and presence has been instrumental in its success. As a brand and company rooted in celebrating culture and uplifting communities, we are thrilled to show our support and continue to provide new ways to elevate the festival experience for guests throughout the expanded weekend of activities, all while highlighting and supporting the remarkable women of the Atlanta community,” said Kent Montgomery, Senior Vice President, PepsiCo Industry Relations and Multicultural Development.

Blige and continued partners chose to return to Atlanta for the second annual event given its reputation as the mecca for young Black creatives and entrepreneurs. The festival is proud to partner with dozens of local, minority, and female-owned businesses and vendors to help cultivate the best experience for attendees. The love for Atlanta is reflected not only in the festival’s investment into the local entrepreneurial community but also in the performers and hosts for the various events taking place over the weekend.

Crump alleges that the agencies named “had factual evidence and exculpatory evidence that they fraudulently concealed from the men who were wrongfully convicted for the assassination of Malcolm X.”

“Many things that will be put forth in our lawsuit that speaks to this factual evidence. We believe that now it could be substantiated based on the recent exonerations of those who were wrongfully convicted.”

“The rhetorical question is this: if the government compensated the two gentlemen that were wrongfully convicted for the assassination of Malcolm X with tens of millions of dollars, then what is to be the compensation for the daughters who suffered the most from the assassination of Malcolm X?”

A daring tour-de-force, this special is a hysterical yet thoughtful exploration of friendship, family, mistakes, and redemption.

Marlon Wayans quote: “I’m excited to be back in business with HBO Max. We’ve had a lot of success with my last two specials so this will be great. I know HBO Max and the sophisticated team of executives are notorious for being true tastemakers and snobs of comedy, so I am flattered that they found this special to be… special.”

Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story – Coming To Lifetime

Following the immensely popular Seven Deadly Sins movies—LustEnvyWrath and Greed—Lifetime continues the anthology with a new sin and new movie, Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story. Executive produced by T.D. Jakes, Derrick Williams and Shaun Robinson, and inspired by actual events, the movie centers on the story of a famous bakery owner and reality TV star Birdie Moore (Grammy-Award winner, Stephanie Mills) whose past secrets threaten the enormous success she has achieved. Joining Mills are co-stars Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles as Birdie’s son, Gabe Moore; Keeya King as her granddaughter, Ella Boudreaux; and Grammy-Award winner Erica Campbell as Pastor Trey. Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story premieres on Saturday, April 8 at 8/7c.

Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story tells the story of reality TV star Birdie Moore (Stephanie Mills), whose carefully constructed world starts to crumble — like the baked goods that catapulted her to fame — when her family secrets are brought to light. To salvage her legacy, Birdie must let go of the pride that estranged her from her daughter. Birdie’s pride also prevents her from seeing that her son Gabe Moore (Thomas Miles) is actually a thieving opportunist and that her granddaughter Ella Boudreaux (Keeya King) is just a lost twenty-something trying to build up her life after some missteps. While pride helped drive Birdie’s success, it also made her blind to what was happening around her. Will Birdie finally be able to see and admit the truth, or face the consequences of her pride?

Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story is produced by Neshama Entertainment, T.D. Jakes Enterprises, DNA Media Group and RobinHood Productions in association with MarVista Entertainment. T.D. Jakes, Derrick Williams, and Shaun Robinson serve as executive producers along with Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer and Fernando Szew for MarVista Entertainment, and Arnie Zipursky and Suzanne Berger for Neshama. Pride is directed by Troy Scott from a script written by Felicia Brooker. Award-winning composer and music director, Ray Chew, is the movie’s composer.

In addition to Stephanie Mills, Thomas Miles and Keeya King, the movie also stars Lucia Walters (Virgin River) as Shanice; and Jaime M. Callica (Ruthless) as Khalil.

The Seven Deadly Sins movie anthology is inspired by novels from author Victoria Christopher Murray, who is a consulting producer on Pride.

Jay Z Tops 2 Billion Net Worth

Former Forbes editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg reported a 2022 net worth for Jigga as the wealthiest hip-hop artists with a fortune of $1.5 billion USD. Hov’s status continues to grow after he became hip-hop’s first billionaire, paving the way for others in the industry. A large chunk of his wealth comes from his ownership in Roc Nation as well as his champagne company, Armand de Brignac. He has also taken up stakes in growing businesses including Rihanna‘s Savage x Fenty and D’Usse.

Last week JAY-Z reportedly reached an agreement in his legal battle with D’USSE for a staggering $750,000,000.00 for more than half of his 50% stake in the company.

Jay‘s new estimated net worth: $2.25 Billion and growing.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Star as Nike Executives Trying to Sign Michael Jordan in ‘Air’ Trailer

The first trailer for Air has arrived.

The Ben Affleck-directed dramedy stars Matt Damon as Sonny Vaccaro, who’s trying to find a way to save Nike at a time when the corporation wasn’t a household name. After finding some game tape of a young Michael Jordan, Vaccaro shows up at the Jordan family home to talk the young player’s parents into recruiting him. Though at first, Nike co-founder Phil Knight (Affleck) is skeptical of a rookie being the face of a new Nike basketball shoe line, he eventually relents and the rest is history,

In addition to Affleck and Damon, the film also stars Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, Chris Messina, Marlon Wayans, and Chris Tucker.

And while Davis shows up as MJ’s mother, the trailer doesn’t feature Jordan himself. No one associated with the film has said whether Jordan appears in the movie, and the iMDB page doesn’t list an actor cast in the role, either. It looks like there’s only one way to find out whether or not we’re getting our first ever fictionalized portrayal of MJ.

The 24th Annual Super Bowl Soulful Celebration to Kick Off Super Bowl Festivities in Arizona

While most sports enthusiasts are preparing for the Super Bowl, there are some of us who are just excited for the music! Yes, we know all about Rihanna making her comeback to the stage during the much anticipated half-time show but, there’s something even more special happening just a few days before. The 24th Annual Super Bowl Soulful Celebration.

Formerly known as the Super Bowl Celebration of Gospel, this evening of inspiration and culture will showcase the hidden talents of a few former players as well as some big names in the entertainment industry. Since 1999 this is the only event that offers an opportunity for the players to celebrate their faith, family and football during the biggest weekend in sports.

The only multicultural program and community event sanctioned by the NFL during Super Bowl weekend, the highly anticipated night of music, comedy, NFL Players and soulful inspiration is hosted by nationally-syndicated radio host Willie Moore, Jr. and themed “Unstoppable,” with featured performances from the legendary Patti LaBelle, Israel Houghton, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Tye Tribbett, and The Players Choir. You read that right, there’s a gospel choir made up entirely of past and present NFL players!

We caught up with Stephen Pierce, former NFL Wide Receiver for the Cleveland Browns, to ask about his involvement with The Players Choir. Pierce, who is currently the CEO of The Stephen Pierce Foundation, an organization that focuses on youth and community outreach, expressed his excitement to once again be involved in this faith filled event. When asked whether he felt more fulfilled on the football field or in the choir Pierce took pause to consider the question then stated “The choir. On the football field I can only reach so many people at a time, even televised. With singing, I feel like I reach more, that I can spread the word of God more.” We have to admit that it was refreshing to see someone so revered be boisterous about their love for God.

This year, the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration will honor Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback and Super Bowl LVII contender Jalen Hurts with the “Faith In Action” award. This award recognizes current and former NFL players making an impact in their communities and in the lives of others off the field. Previous honorees include Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, Tim Brown, Russell Wilson, Tony Dungy and Troy Vincent, among others.

The Super Bowl Soulful Celebration will be hosted by REACH Media Nationally-Syndicated Radio Host Willie Moore, Jr. and presented live on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona.

Dear Alpha Female Its Not Him It’s You…..

Dear Alpha Female Its Not Him It’s You is a love letter for today’s career woman struggling with romance.

Valentines Day is a little over a week away, but many women have started celebrating their sister friendships with Galentine’s Day. Best-selling author Christal Jordan says the holiday dedicated to sisterly affection was the perfect release date for her highly anticipated new book ‘Dear Alpha Female: It’s not him, it’s You!’

The book is an interactive guide that takes 21st century single women on a journey to self-appreciation by coaching them through the roles they play in their love lives. Jordan describes the book as a “love letter wrapped in accountability” and shares much of her personal testimony as a career woman who identifies with the “alpha female” and struggled with finding and maintaining a romantic relationship despite achieving success in other areas of her life.

‘Love can’t exist without accountability and at some points in my life I needed to be held accountable in areas where I was struggling,’ she shares. A celebrity publicist by trade, Jordan says at the times her business was being touted as one of the premiere PR agencies in the southeast, she was secretly dealing with anxiety and high functioning depression. While her areas of weakness did not show up in her ability to serve clients and lead a staff of five, it did affect her dating life. After going through a painful divorce, Jordan was single for a little over a decade before a girlfriend told her she needed to get help.

That help included being a guest on ‘Iyanla: Fix my Life’, where she was held accountable for her contribution to her singleness. “Ms. Vanzant immediately cut through my exterior and spoke to that little girl inside me that believed she needed to “over-achieve’ to prove her worth. I’d never loved myself unconditionally; I told myself I had to perform at a certain level or else.” After her encounter with Iyanla Vanzant, Jordan went back to therapy and ended up getting married a year and a half later.

Today Jordan says she cringes hearing women boast and brag about their accomplishments suggesting their financial and or career success make them a “perfect catch”. “So many of us have bought into the idea that money, accolades or materialistic things make us worthy of love and then are disappointed and ultimately bitter when those achievements don’t reward us with a loving relationship. The truth is we have to love ourselves differently, finding value in just being our authentic selves. When we are unbalanced we don’t leave an open space for real love.”

Jordan hopes ‘Dear Alpha Female’ will serve as a cautionary epiphany to ambitious women everywhere.

In this thought-provoking devotional, readers will be confronted with questions (Will your life end if you never get married? Are you considered a failure if you don’t have children?) that encourage them to take inventory of their values and do away with toxic beliefs that may be holding them back from attracting the love they desire.

I wrote this book because I truly believe I am not my sister’s keeper, I am my sister,” says Jordan, who remarried last year after spending over a decade as a divorced, single working mom. “It’s time to allow those over-achieving little girls inside of us to relax. We have to let her know she’s carried us this far, but it’s time for her to exhale. It’s time for her to let go of her fear. It’s time for her to be loved unconditionally. It’s time for her to grow.”

TLC’s Chilli, a close friend and client of Jordan’s provides the foreword for the book.

‘Dear Alpha Female It’s Not Him It’s You’ is slated for release on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in celebration of Galentine’s Day 2023. The book available on Amazon.com, Walmart, Barnes & Noble booksellers and more.

For more information on ‘Dear Alpha Female: It’s Not Him It’s You!’ or for interview opportunities with Christal Jordan email: Jamal James via associate@enchantedpr.net.

MOTOWN GOSPEL SIGNS LATOCHA OF MULTI-PLATINUM GROUP XSCAPE

Motown Gospel (a division of Capitol CMG/Capitol and Universal Music Group) announces the signing of award-winning artist LaTocha to an exclusive license agreement via her own label, Made Girl Music. A multi-hyphenate force in the music industry, LaTocha is best known as a member of the multi-platinum-selling R&B group Xscape, providing leads on some of the group’s biggest songs, including “Who Can I Run To” and “The Arms of the One Who Loves You.”

“It has always been a passion of mine to do inspirational music,” says LaTocha. “It has been my foundation, and that is very evident, even when I sing R&B music. I can’t escape that.”

For the powerhouse songstress, the interplay of music and faith began at Mt. Olive Church of God in Holiness, in her hometown of College Park, GA. She leaned on that foundation even as she became a household name in one of the biggest girl groups in R&B history.

“A hallmark of LaTocha’s successful career has been her love for gospel music and her strong personal connection to the Black church,” shares Monica Coates, Co-Executive Director, Motown Gospel. “I am excited for her fans—long-standing and new—to finally have a body of work that reflects those areas of her passion.”

Adds EJ Gaines, Co-Executive Director of Motown Gospel: “LaTocha has one of the most recognized voices in R&B, but she also has staying power and manages to maintain relevance in a marketplace that doesn’t always allow for that. I can’t wait for her fans to hear what she’s been working on.”

LaTocha is readying her debut inspirational project, slated for release this year. Fans can stay connected with LaTocha via her social media channels– @iAmLaTocha on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook.

50 Cent working on ‘8 Mile’ TV show w/ Eminem

The 8 Mile saga continues. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said he’s creating a television show inspired by the movie. He confirmed the news today (Jan. 6) in an interview on “Big Boy’s Neighborhood.”

50 dropped a bomb in the conversation when he said, “I’m gonna bring 8 Mile to television.” His words shocked Big Boy and his co-hosts. Even more surprising is when Fif added that Eminem was aware and the two are “in motion” with the production.

“It’s gonna be big,” he said. “I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100… I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”
