NFL THREATENS BUSINESSES OVER SOCIAL MEDIA PICS

The NFL sent a letter to Orefici Watches demanding the company immediately stop posting pictures of NFL stars wearing their jewelry on its various websites and social media pages.

But the explanation is the interesting part — in the letter, the NFL says the league “has the exclusive right to license the names, likenesses, images” and more of nearly all NFL players for commercial products and promotions involving six or more players.

The NFL demanded Orefici remove the images ASAP or else it would take further legal action against the company. We’re told Orefici complied.

FYI — after the company received the letter, DeMarco Murray contacted the company and bought 22 watchesfor various teammates … though pics of the players sporting the watches are noticeably absent from Orefici’s social media.

Snoop Dogg Sued for GAY Bashing

A few days ago, Snoop posted a photo of a man with the caption, “Whose auntcle is this?” The Maryland native, Cortez Booze, was then bombarded with a slew of hateful comments from Instagram users.

The comments ranged from people calling him a “shemale” and “confused,” as well as other derogatory homophobic slurs. According to TMZ, Booze reported the image to Instagram but also plans on filing a lawsuit against the rapper for posting his image which sparked the negativity. This is similar to the lawsuit filed against Shaquille O’Neal, who posted a photo of a man with a genetic disorder this past summer. That case is still pending.

Did ‘Empire’ Live Up To All The Hype?? How Do You Feel About the Show??

Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson eats up the scenery on this show as Lucious’ ex-wife Cookie. She’s steely, streetwise and savvy about the music industry. But she took a fall for Lucious, going to jail for 17 years so he could use $400,000 in drug money to start their company.

As the show begins, she’s fresh out of the slammer and threatening to derail everything if she can’t manage her son’s career.

“I’ve been living like a dog for 17 years, and now … I want what’s mine,” she tells Lucious while plunking on a piano in his office. “I want Jamal.”

This sets up one of many conflicts on the show, as Cookie takes over managing their gay son, Jamal, and Lucious backs in-your-face rapper son Hakeem. Clean-cut son Andre has subtly encouraged this — egged on by his white girlfriend — in hopes that his two other brothers will destroy each other.

In an interview with ShowBiz411, Rashad — who played the iconic Claire Huxtable on “The Cosby Show” and also co-starred in the show’s sequel, “Cosby” — slammed the allegations against the comedian. “Forget these women,” Rashad told the entertainment website in an interview posted late Tuesday. “What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated.”

“Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV,” Rashad was quoted as saying. “And it’s worked.” After the allegations, TV Land pulled “Cosby Show” reruns, Netflix postponed a streaming Bill Cosby special and NBC pulled the plug on a sitcom it was developing with the comedian.

TARAJI P. HENSON FIRES BACK AT 50 CENT

Taraji P. Henson doesn’t mince her words and won’t bite her tongue.

50 Cent has put his Starz show “Power” in competition with Fox’s debut series “Empire” starring Henson and Terrence Howard.

The king of beef accused the upcoming show of stealing “Power’s” marketing plan. In an Instagram post he wrote, “POWER Season 2 is unbelievable good trust me. I have the best writers and show runner. I like Terrence howard and Taraji Henson. I don’t like that They would copy the Marketing. #SMSAudio #FRIGO #POWERTV.”

Henson hasn’t focused a bit of her energy on responding to the rapper in the press, but when a fan asked her how she felt about his comments, she kept it all the way one hundred.

“I pay attention to $’s NOT cents,” she tweeted.

A representative for Pro Era member Joey Bada$$ told Gawker that they received the photo from “a mutual friend of Malia and the pro era member,” but declined to give further details.

The image doesn’t appear to be Photoshopped, but it’s unclear whether the subject is actually Malia or a particularly convincing doppelgänger. Allow us to investigate further.

Facebook Copyright Hoax Goes Viral Again

The message claims to put copyright protections on a user’s posts after they share the status update.

It typically reads:

“In response to the new Facebook guidelines, I hereby declare that my copyright is attached to all of my personal details, illustrations, comics, paintings, professional photos and videos, etc. (as a result of the Berner Convention). For commercial use of the above my written consent is needed at all times!”

Here’s the thing: Facebook doesn’t own your posts. Under the social network’s privacy policy, they have the right to distribute and share the things a user posts, subject to their privacy and application settings. (Check out Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities here.)

The hoax doesn’t even have its facts right. A quick Google search will also show that there’s is no such thing as the Berner Convention. (Whoever originated it probably meant to write the Berne convention, which is an international agreement protecting literary and artistic works).

Keisha Knight FIRED from ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ for not Calling Bill Cosby

In the premiere episode of Celebrity Apprentice, Keisha Knight Pulliam was appointed as the female team’s project manager and fired for not calling Bill Cosby to help reach her goal.
Pulliam needed to raise money for her team for the Project Pie Face competition but choose not to reach out to Cosby for a donation. She contacted Russell Simmons, Ludacris and Tyler Perry (to name a few) to donate funds because she felt they could “deliver the quickest.” Unfortunately, her team didn’t make their financial goal and her teammates blamed the actress who once played Cosby’s adorable daughter Rudy on The Cosby Show for not contacting her famed television father. At the end of the competition, the team was evaluated in the boardroom meeting with Donald Trump, his fashion designer/businesswoman daughter Ivanka Trump and Piers Morgan. The spotlight was on Pulliam with the repeated question: “Why didn’t you call Bill?” The Vulture reports: –

Octavia Spencer Wins $900,000 in Weight -Loss Lawsuit

The actress won her lawsuit against Sensa Products, a weight-loss company she had an endorsement deal with. In the lawsuit, Spencer claimed the company wrongfully terminated her and ended her endorsement deal. Sensa claims her use of the hashtag #spon for #sponsored while promoting their products negatively effected their campaign.

The lawsuit goes on to state that it wasn’t in Spencer’s contract to not use the hashtag or get her tweets pre-approved. Spencer claimed she did more on her part to honor the deal by permitting Sensa to use before-and-after photos of her and advertisements in tabloids despite her reluctance. In addition, Spencer said she had lost the 20 pounds that she was required to lose as part of the deal.
“This was always about principle for our client, Ms. Spencer. She was taken advantage of by a company that is no stranger to misrepresentations,” Spencer’s attorney Bryan Freedman told The Hollywood Reporter. “I am very proud of Octavia’s will to fight.”
In the end, the judge ordered the company to pay $940,00 to Spencer. Reportedly the judgement was a default due to no representation by Sensa. The company is currently experiencing financial hardship. It may be a very a long time before Octavia sees any of her money.

Birdman Having Serious Money Problems and Might Lose His Mansion

Ivy Condo Association says between him bouncing checks and racking up over $12.5K in unpaid fees they’ve had enough — they filed a lien in November, and asked the court to foreclose on the rap mogul right before Christmas. Yo, bah humbug! Financial woes are stacking up for the Cash Money honcho — a reported $1.9 million federal tax lien, a $1 mil lien from a construction company … plus, he took out a $5M loan against his mega-mansion in April, just to pimp it out. Florida State Poor Losers after Loss to Oregon (Video)

The Florida State Seminoles suffered their first loss of the season in the Rose Bowl and many of the Seminoles’ players went straight to the locker room as soon as the clock ran out, rather than shaking hands with the Oregon players. This did not please the ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, who voiced his displeasure to the television audience. Jameis Winston was one of the few that stuck around.
“Glad to Jameis Winston, a leader of this team, stuck it out,” Herbstreit said. “Over half the Florida State team, right into the locker room, didn’t come across. Jimbo Fisher shakes hands. That’s disappointing that 70% of the Florida State team is in the locker room.

Nicki Minaj Speaks on Her Abortion in Rolling Stone Interview

“I thought I was going to die. I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through. It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice,” she said.

“I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”

She also admitted that her new album is her most honest release to date.

“One of my goals was to give people a glimpse into my personal life, because it’s something I’ve kept very private. I had to learn to do something as simple as sleep alone,” she said.

“I struggled with ‘Do I express these feelings?’ And I decided there’s no reason for me to hide. I’m a vulnerable woman, and I’m proud of that.”

She also weighed in on the deaths of Mike Brown and Eric Garner.
