Word on the street is that Nicki Minaj has joined forces with Atlanta’s own Tasha Cobbs to make a new gospel single. The song is called “I’m Getting Ready,” and will be featured on Tasha Cobb’s new album, “Heart Passion Pursuit,” which is scheduled to drop in August.
Once the word got out that Nicki has dropped a few bars on the album, Tasha Cobbs took to her social media and had a special message for those who may not approve of the collaboration.
“Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do. And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with—even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department. Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently.”

Gospel Artist Marvin Sapp Reveals Why He Almost Quit Singing On Next Episode of TV One’s UNSUNG,
Airing Sunday, July 16 at 10 p.m. ET
Sapp, one of Billboard’s Top 200 all-time highest charting gospel artists, shares his story of triumph and significant loss; Insights from friends provided by Kirk Franklin, Byron Cage, Donald Lawrence, Dorinda Clark Cole, Myron Butler, Aundrae Russell, Marvin Winans Sr. and Fred Hammond

With one of the most unique voices in gospel music, Marvin Sapp has been spreading the Gospel through song for over three decades. His powerful mix of old-school sensibilities and new school swagger led him to dominate the gospel charts in the 2000s with seven Top 10 hits including the #1 songs, “Never Would’ve Made It,” “The Best in Me” and “My Testimony.” The Midwestern pastor’s music resonated beyond the pulpit, often being played on mainstream radio and even landing on the Billboard R&B and Hot 100 charts.
But Sapp’s faith would be tested on several occasions – from illness, to personal attacks, to the tragic death of his wife, MaLinda, to colon cancer.
Insights from family and friends are provided by Kirk Franklin, Byron Cage, Donald Lawrence, Dorinda Clark Cole, Myron Butler, Aundrae Russell, Marvin Winans Sr., Tyrone DuBose, Karl Reid, and Fred Hammond.
Sources connected to Tidal tell TMZ, Kanye has been unhappy with the company for a long time. We’re told Kanye has complained the company owes him money — more than $3 million.
Our sources say a month ago Kanye’s lawyer sent a letter to Tidal, saying the company was in breach and the contract was terminated. Over the next 2 weeks lawyers for both sides tried to resolve the conflict but failed. We’re told 2 weeks ago Kanye’s lawyer fired off a second letter declaring again the contract was over.
Kanye’s decision to split from Tidal predates the release of Jay Z’s album in which he trashes Kanye, and we’re told Kanye had no advance knowledge of Jay’s lyrics.

A new trailer for the highly anticipated movie “All Eyez On Me” has just been released on the 20th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death.
The “I Am Hip Hop” Award returns to honor entertainment icon and legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. Highly respected with more than 20 years in the industry, Snoop continues to set trends and pave the way for both new and established artists. Snoop defines hip-hop history. He is undoubtedly one of the most recognized and respected entertainers of all time. Hailing from Long Beach, CA, Snoop began his career under the guidance of Dr. Dre and became a multi-platinum artist who set records with his seminal album Doggystyle, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over 800,000 copies in the first week. Throughout his career, Snoop’s produced chart-topping hits including “Gin & Juice,” “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?),” “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang,” “Next Episode,” “Beautiful,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Signs,” “Sensual Seduction” and “I Wanna Rock.” He garnered chart topping success with his first album, Doggystyle (1993), which climbed its way to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s hip-hop and Top 200 charts. His sophomore album, Tha Doggfather (1996), also achieved chart topping success. He continued to top the hip-hop charts with his next two albums: Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told (1998) and No Limit Top Dogg (1999). Most recently, the West Coast Rapper released his 14th studio album COOLAID, featuring the hit single “Kush Ups” with Wiz Khalifa. Snoop’s career has transcended industry lines with award-winning and multi-platinum albums and songs, as well as critically acclaimed films and television shows, including his weekly “GGN News” series on his WestFestTV YouTube channel. His philanthropic efforts are also well documented and his pioneering ventures, “Leafs by Snoop,” a cannabis product line and MERRYJANE.COM, a media platform, are already business and tech industry leaders.

And the hottest night in Hip Hop is only getting started as the “King of the South” T.I. is confirmed to perform; Atlanta’s own Gucci Mane marks his long awaited return to the stage; Travis Scott will bring another hot performance; as well as performances by Young Thug and Desiigner. The list of confirmed performers doesn’t stop there; also bringing the heat for this year’s BET “HIP HOP AWARDS” is Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Dae Dae, Big Baby D.R.A.M. and Isaiah Rashad. Presenters for the BET “HIP HOP AWARDS” 2016 include the star of Empire and BET’s The New Edition Story, Bryshere Y. Gray and rapper and actor Shameik Moore.
According to the deal, Shmurda pled to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon. The other charges were dismissed, and he’ll get 7 years in prison and 5 years probation.

with their Hip-Hop Cash Kings list, and for the second consecutive year, Diddy reigns supreme. The hip-hop mogul sits atop the list, raking in a cool $62 million over the past year. Much of the money isn’t from music, but rather his very lucrative Ciroc vodka deal and other ventures. However, he hasn’t let the stage entirely as his Bad Boy Reunion Tour runs through the fall.
Coming in second is Jay Z, earning $53.5 million over the past year. Hov cashed in on his Roc Nation entertainment company, Armand de Brignac champagne, D’Ussé cognac and other ventures.
Rounding out the top three is Dr. Dre, pulling in $41 million. Its been two years since he scored the highest single-year payday in history for any living celebrity, mostly from Apple’s $3 billion Beats buyout. Though he’s no longer No. 1 like he was in 2014, he’s still pocketing cash from the deal and from NWA’s biopic Straight Outta Compton.

Church Clothes 3, the highly-anticipated follow-up to his DJ Don Cannon-hosted mixtapes Church Clothes and Church Clothes 2, has dropped without a prior announcement. The latest episode in the saga is executive produced by S1, who previously worked alongside heavyweights such as Jay Z and Kanye West. E-40 lends his signature voice and flow to the snare-heavy “Can’t Do You,” a track that is solid but is actually overshadowed by other cuts, including “Gangland” where Lecrae and Propaganda explore United States history and its effect on race relations in today’s society and “Misconceptions 3” where much lesser-known rappers John Givez, JGivens and Jackie Hill Perry trade bars with Lecrae in the finest fashion. Other standouts include “Cruising,” a feel-good song produced by S1 that is begging to be played all summer and the haunting finale “I Wouldn’t Know” where Lecrae and labelmate KB pour out their hearts, explaining the mission behind the music is to count changed lives, not money stacks.
