Snoop Dogg Is Getting a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

After decades in the music industry, Snoop Dogg will finally receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Variety reports the 47-year-old West Coast rapper will be honored next week on Hollywood Boulevard in front of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel will present the plaque during the ceremony, alongside Quincy Jones and Death Row Records founder Dr. Dre.

Last night, OWN: Oprah Winfrey network hosted a lively premiere watch party for their new dating series, “Ready to Love,” produced by Will Packer and hosted by Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles. The cast along with friends, family and VIPs gathered at Suite Lounge in downtown Atlanta to celebrate OWN’s first-ever dating show. Moments before the live broadcast, guests enjoyed cocktails and music by DJ Traci Steele. OWN’s EVP of Programming and Development, Jonathan Sinclair, greeted the crowd before handing the mic over to Will Packer, who thanked Atlanta for their continuous support of his films. Nephew Tommy echoed Packer’s sentiments and encouraged guests to spread the word and tune in to OWN every Saturday at 10/9c for the rest of the season.
Special guests included “Sister Circle Live” co-hosts Syleena Johnson, Rashan Ali, Quad Webb-Lunceford and Trina Braxton; “Greenleaf” star Lamman Rucker; comedian and tv personality Kiana Dance; Xscape singer Tamika Scott; comedian Shawty; actress Reece Odum and actor Mike Merrill.

JANET JACKSON NAMED BMI ICON AT THE 2018 BMI R&B/HIP-HOP AWARDS

Last night, BMI® (Broadcast Music, Inc)® celebrated the songwriters, producers and publishers of the year’s most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs during the 2018 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards held at The Woodruff Arts Center’s Symphony Hall in Atlanta. Multiple award-winning superstar Janet Jackson took home the night’s highest honor of BMI Icon in recognition of her groundbreaking career as one of the most influential entertainers of all time.

Hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative, Atlanta Catherine Brewton, with Lifestyle Specialist Kenny Burns as co-host, the evening included stellar performances by some of the hottest artists on the music scene.

Hosted by 2017 Marconi Award Winner Rickey Smiley and singer/actress LeToya Luckett, the annual two-hour television special honors artists and musicians who have influenced and made significant contributions to American music. This year’s honorees were Bobby Brown, Faith Evans, Bebe & Cece Winans, Whodini, Stephanie Mills and Dallas Austin.
The night included performances by Bell Biv Devoe, Next, Jade Novah, Kierra Sheard, Tasha Page-Lockhart, V. Lil Wayne Reportedly Settles Lawsuit with Universal & Cash Money

Wednesday night, the Blast alleged they had obtained court documents showing that Wayne’s attorney filed a notice May 23 claiming “all sides” were down for dismissing the suit. Universal then reportedly cut a settlement check to Wayne for “well over $10 million,” zero dollars of which originated from Birdman.

The report further alleges that, with this settlement, Wayne is now finished with Cash Money and will reportedly be releasing Tha Carter V via Universal.
