Cincinnati Officer Indicted For Murder of Samuel DuBose

(CNN)University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing was indicted Wednesday on a murder charge in the shooting death of Samuel DuBose.
If convicted, Tensing could go to prison for life, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said in a news conference. Deters played body camera footage of the traffic stop shooting that appeared to contradict Tensing’s version of what happened.
“I’ve been doing this for over 30 years. This is the most asinine act I’ve ever seen a police officer make — totally unwarranted,” said Deters. “It’s an absolute tragedy in the year 2015 that anyone would behave in this manner. It was senseless.”

Scarface: Deeply Rooted Sept.4th

Scarface’s twelfth studio album, Deeply Rooted will arrive on September 4. For the second time in Brad Jordan’s 25-plus-year career, the MC will release a studio album apart from Rap-A-Lot Records. While the follow-up to 2008’s Emeritus may be released on his own Facemob Music imprint, the trimmings of the LP’s 15 tracks look anything but low-profile.
Nas, Rick Ross, John Legend, and Cee-Lo Green are among guests, in addition to fellow former Rap-A-Lot artist Z-Ro, who appears twice. Papa Rue, who worked extensively with ‘Face on 2010’s Dopeman Music project also appears greatly involved. Producers are said to include longtime Scarface affiliates Mike Dean and N.O. Joe.

Birdman says Nicki & Drake Won’t Leave Cash Money

“Cash Money is blessed, thank you for asking. We are a family and just like in families, we have our moments. But, you know what, I’ve gotten so much closer to Wayne lately. Wayne is his own person. He’s a businessman and whatever decision Wayne makes, I would never in my life speak against it publicly, even if I didn’t agree. So my thing is, and Baby has always been one of my best friends in the game. They love each other and it’s family. It’ll never go to another level. Everybody loves to hype things up but artists are emotional. We are emotional when it comes to our projects and when it comes to our fans and what our fans want and when they want it and sometimes that causes us to, you know, act emotional.” (Power 106 FM)
“That’s gossip,” Birdman tells radio host Angie Martinez. “Nicki [Minaj] and Drake ain’t going nowhere. Regardless. … Not just for him, [Wayne’s public remarks about Cash Money] was a shocker for everybody. Never thought [Wayne] would be saying nothing negative about me. Ever. In no lifetime. I never thought that would ever happen.” (Power 105.1)

THE FIFTH ANNUAL LONG BEACH GOSPEL FESTIVAL

The 5th Annual Long Beach Gospel Fest drew a crowd of thousands to enjoy a star-studded lineup of the best gospel artists in music today, including multi-award winning performers Deitrick Haddon, Tina Campbell, Tasha Cobbs, Kierra Sheard, Jonathan Nelson, Myron Butler, Jessica Reedy, Brian Courtney Wilson, Gerald and Tammi Haddon and more.

The highly anticipated citywide worship experience, founded and hosted by Pastor Wayne Chaney, Jr. and wife Myesha of the Antioch Church of Long Beach, was nearly derailed by power outages in Long Beach preceding the event and inclement weather on the day of show. The show went on, however, and festival-goers were treated to a monumental morning worship service led by Pastor Chaney, followed by the afternoon concert. The event shifted location from Marina Green Park to City of Refuge Church when the heavens opened up in a downpour during late afternoon.

“For the past few years, the fragrance of Gospel Music has permeated the shores of Long Beach,” said Pastor Chaney. “This year was no different. Even in the rain, our hearts smiled seeing so many uplifted and encouraged.”

This year’s festival included a special live red carpet periscope feed hosted by WEtv reality series personality and stylist to the stars, GooGoo Atkins, who also served as the event’s inaugural social media host. Taking us behind-the-scenes, Atkins conducted a backstage tour and interviewed celebrity attendees during arrivals such as Dorien Wilson, Judge Kevin Ross, designer Kevan Hall, Torrie Hart, Aaron D. Spears, Terry Hunt, Gwen Smith, Alycia Cooper, Patrick Faucette, and London Brown, in addition to the show’s performers.

50 Cent Claims He’s Only Worth $4.4 Million

According to Page Six, 50 flashed “big smiles” at the jurors while downplaying his lifestyle, admitting that he’s only worth “no more than $4.4 million” as they decide how much he will pay the woman whose sex tape he released. 50 Cent was ordered to return to court to discuss his financial status, and during that time he professed that all of his chains, watches and rings were “borrowed from the jeweler,” and all of his cars were rented, not owned. “Now that I’ve filed for bankruptcy…I’m not as cool as I was last week,” he told the court, referring to his image.

Birdman Is Suing Jay Z and Tidal For $50 Million

Baby is now suing Jay Z and Tidal for streaming Wayne’s Free Weezy Album exclusively on the service. According to TMZ, newly filed court documents show that Birdman is going after Jay and Tidal for $50 million, and they maintain that they own all of the exclusive rights to Wayne’s music and that the Tidal is illegal.
The lawsuit states that Tidal claims Cash Money doesn’t have that exclusive ownership, and that Wayne gave them the go ahead to exclusively stream his music in return for part ownership in Tidal. The lawsuit apparently points out specific portions of Wayne’s Cash Money contract, which he is currently trying to get out of Read more

Young Thug & Birdman Named In Indictment In Lil Wayne’s Tour Bus Shooting

UPDATE:

This indictment has uncovered much more troubling details of the actual incidents in question. According to the legal documents, Jimmy Winfrey followed Lil Wayne’s tour bus out of an Atlanta venue’s parking lot, and opened fire on the bus. There were reportedly 12 people inside, including Lil Wayne, and other Young Money rappers and executives.
Shortly after the shooting incident, which took place in April, authorities allege that Winfrey fled on a nearby freeway while placing a call to Birdman. The indictment also denotes that prior to the shooting, Winfrey placed a call to Young Thug, and a nearby police officer observed that there was an assault rifle in the white Camaro Winfrey was piloting.

Young Thug and Birdman (or “Baby“) have been named alongside Young Thug affiliate Jeffrey Winfrey (or Peewee Roscoe), claiming the three conspired in a plot to kill Lil Wayne. According to the reports, which are coming in via WSBTV’s Mike Petchenik’s Twitter, the indictment refers to a plot that was to be carried out in April, the month in which Weezy’s tour bus was shot at as he left the parking lot of an Atlanta venue after a show. Two months ago, Winfrey was arrested for the crime.

Some of the details that Petchenik revealed include the fact that the indictment is against Winfrey specifically, but names both Young Thug and Birdman as connected to Winfrey, and more specifically, that Winfrey was carrying out a plot devised by Young Thug. Furthermore, Thug’s most recent music video, “With That,” in which Winfrey is prominently displayed, is being used as evidence. The prosecution plans to draw a connection between the April incident, and Winfrey holding a firearm in the video of a song that mentions Lil Wayne.

Young Thug Arrested for Threatening to ‘Shoot Victim In the Face’

Atlanta rapper Young Thug was arrested Wednesday (July 15) morning in Sandy Springs, Georgia by U.S. Marshals over an outstanding warrant issued by Dunwoody police.
The 22-year-old rapper was charged with making “terroristic threats” during an earlier incident on July 7, the U.S. Marshals office confirmed to Billboard. Dunwoody police inform Billboard they arrested him at 6 a.m. local time without struggle.
Young Thug’s warrant stems from a July 7 incident where the rapper, real name Jeffrey Williams, reportedly caused a disturbance at Dunwoody’s upscale Perimeter Mall. While being escorted out of the mall for alleged criminal trespass, “the accused threatened to shoot the victim [a mall security personnel] in the face with the purpose of terrorizing” him.
He faces his bond hearing in county jail today, July 15. Atlanta Journal Constitution first reported the news.

NY Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul Right Index Finger Amputated

Today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared medical documents showing that JPP had his right index finger amputated today (July 8). As bad as that sounds, the decision to remove the finger was done in order for the Pro Bowl player be able to return to the field as soon as possible. Currently in the recovery phase, JPP has a timetable of 2 months to be able to get back onto the field. Coming off a season where he raked in 12.5 sacks, the world will see how effective he can be moving forward.
Another interesting point of contention to the story is Pierre-Paul rejecting the Giants hospital visit, as well as refusing any of their medical assistance. The animosity could be related to the retraction of the large $60M contract, as well as the team placing the franchise tag on him. A contract he has yet to sign. It will be interesting to see how things play out given the circumstances.

Floyd Mayweather Stripped of Title

The WBO stripped pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather of his welterweight world title on Monday for his failure to comply with the organization’s rules.
Mayweather claimed the WBO welterweight title when he outpointed Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in a 147-pound unification fight that shattered all financial records for a boxing match, including total gross, pay-per-view subscriptions, closed circuit revenue, live gate, foreign television sales and sponsorships.
Mayweather, who holds two other alphabet welterweight world titles, let come and go the 4:30 p.m. ET Friday deadline by which he had to pay a $200,000 sanctioning fee from the May 2 fight (for which he earned more than $220 million) and vacate the two junior middleweight titles he also holds.

Cosby said he got drugs to give women for sex In ’05

Bill Cosby admitted in 2005 that he got quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with, and that he gave the sedative to at least one woman and “other people,” according to documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.
That woman and a second woman testified in the same case that they knowingly took quaaludes from him, according to the unsealed documents.
The AP had gone to court to compel the release of the documents from the deposition in a sexual abuse lawsuit filed by former Temple University employee Andrea Constand — the first of a cascade of sexual abuse lawsuits against him. Cosby’s lawyers had objected on the grounds that it would embarrass their client.

I told her…If you can really love somebody without that, then you can really love somebody.
Wilson is sticking to his religious guts, and later in the interview, he and his interviewer will share a joke alluding to the fact that he’s got marital plans for the “I Bet” singer, who, less than a year ago, was engaged to the rapper Future.

Google Apologizes After App Identifies Black People As Gorillas

Tech giant Google is having to run some major damage control after one of the company’s photo-sharing apps misidentified some Black people as — wait for it — gorillas.
Jacky Alciné, a Brooklyn-based programmer, tweeted a screenshot of photos he had uploaded to Google Photos of himself and a female friend, also Black, which the app automatically labeled “gorillas.” Yontan Zunger, an engineer and the company’s chief architect of Google+, wasted no time responding to Alciné’s tweet. “This is 100% Not OK,” he wrote, and promised that Google’s Photos team was working on a fix. Still, Alciné had to wonder, “What kind of sample image data you collected that would result in this son?”

AUGUST ALSINA GOING BLIND?

“For a while I had an issue with seeing,” Alsina revealed. “It was hard for me to see. So I just was driving one day and I saw this little spot for your eyes or whatever and I stopped through and basically the result was, the doctor told me, ‘You have this rare disease.’ Of course when somebody tells you that, you’re like, ‘You’re on some bullsh*t.’ I’m not hearing that, I’m not accepting that, I’m not believing that. At the end of the day, I went to see another doctor and he said the same thing so I didn’t have a choice but to accept it – if my right eye was like how my left eye is, I wouldn’t be able to drive or do anything.” (Power 105.1)
