The 23rd Annual Trumpet Awards was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and this was the best year so far! This has turned into one of my favorite Red Carpets of the year. You won’t find any celebs hitting the carpet with some old faded jeans like they just came from a lawn-chair picnic! This is the event where you go out and get SHARP before you hit the carpet! I’m talking casket sharp!!!! Check out photos from the Red Carpet and leave a comment on who was the best dressed!

Birdman is Very Angry with his Son Dwayne

sources say Birdman is angry on 2 fronts … that Wayne is trying to bail on a binding contract and even more personal, he’s putting their relationship on blast.

Wayne’s song, “I’m Sorry for the Wait,” is especially galling to Birdman because he feels the man he calls “son” is treating him like some random producer.

As we reported, lawyers and others for Wayne and Birdman are in talks, but Wayne has threatened a lawsuit if his album isn’t released.

Federal charges unlikely for Darren Wilson in Ferguson case, officials say

CNN)A federal investigation has not found enough evidence to charge Darren Wilson with the federal crime of depriving Michael Brown of his civil rights, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation.

The FBI has completed its investigation into the August shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, and sent the findings to the Justice Department, a law enforcement official and a separate U.S. official said Wednesday.

Justice Department prosecutors will not recommend civil rights charges against Wilson, who killed Brown, because there is not sufficient evidence to support charges, a U.S. official told CNN.

VH1’s ‘Sorority Sisters’ Shut Down after Complaints

The remaining three episodes of Atlanta-based “Sorority Sisters” are being burned off three in a row this Friday night.
How badly does VH1 want to put this show into the grave? The final episode will start at the odd time of 11:10 p.m. and end just past midnight. Plus, it’s not even being repeated later that night for West Coast consumption. And Friday tends to be a relatively low TV consumption night.

George Zimmerman Arrested For Aggravated Assault With Weapon

Zimmerman was arrested by Lake Mary police on Friday night after allegedly throwing a wine bottle in his girlfriend’s direction earlier in the week, his attorney Donald West said.

West appeared at Zimmerman’s side in a Seminole County court Saturday morning. Later Zimmerman was released, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Mr. Zimmerman denies the accusation,” said West, who was part of the defense team that represented Zimmerman during his trial in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17, during a neighborhood watch patrol in Sanford two years ago. Zimmerman claimed he was acting in self-defense.

The case polarized the American public and drew international attention to Florida’s “stand your ground” law, which makes it easier to use lethal force in self-defense by removing the obligation of a shooter to retreat and avoid a confrontation.

The aggravated assault charge is a third-degree felony that carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison or a $5,000 fine, the lawyer said. An arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 17.

NFL THREATENS BUSINESSES OVER SOCIAL MEDIA PICS

The NFL sent a letter to Orefici Watches demanding the company immediately stop posting pictures of NFL stars wearing their jewelry on its various websites and social media pages.

But the explanation is the interesting part — in the letter, the NFL says the league “has the exclusive right to license the names, likenesses, images” and more of nearly all NFL players for commercial products and promotions involving six or more players.

The NFL demanded Orefici remove the images ASAP or else it would take further legal action against the company. We’re told Orefici complied.

FYI — after the company received the letter, DeMarco Murray contacted the company and bought 22 watchesfor various teammates … though pics of the players sporting the watches are noticeably absent from Orefici’s social media.

Did ‘Empire’ Live Up To All The Hype?? How Do You Feel About the Show??

Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson eats up the scenery on this show as Lucious’ ex-wife Cookie. She’s steely, streetwise and savvy about the music industry. But she took a fall for Lucious, going to jail for 17 years so he could use $400,000 in drug money to start their company.

As the show begins, she’s fresh out of the slammer and threatening to derail everything if she can’t manage her son’s career.

“I’ve been living like a dog for 17 years, and now … I want what’s mine,” she tells Lucious while plunking on a piano in his office. “I want Jamal.”

This sets up one of many conflicts on the show, as Cookie takes over managing their gay son, Jamal, and Lucious backs in-your-face rapper son Hakeem. Clean-cut son Andre has subtly encouraged this — egged on by his white girlfriend — in hopes that his two other brothers will destroy each other.

And I think it’s orchestrated.”

“Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV,” Rashad was quoted as saying. “And it’s worked.” After the allegations, TV Land pulled “Cosby Show” reruns, Netflix postponed a streaming Bill Cosby special and NBC pulled the plug on a sitcom it was developing with the comedian.

TARAJI P. HENSON FIRES BACK AT 50 CENT

Taraji P. Henson doesn’t mince her words and won’t bite her tongue.

50 Cent has put his Starz show “Power” in competition with Fox’s debut series “Empire” starring Henson and Terrence Howard.

I like Terrence howard and Taraji Henson. I don’t like that They would copy the Marketing. #SMSAudio #FRIGO #POWERTV.”

Facebook Copyright Hoax Goes Viral Again

The message claims to put copyright protections on a user’s posts after they share the status update.

It typically reads:

“In response to the new Facebook guidelines, I hereby declare that my copyright is attached to all of my personal details, illustrations, comics, paintings, professional photos and videos, etc. (as a result of the Berner Convention). For commercial use of the above my written consent is needed at all times!”

Here’s the thing: Facebook doesn’t own your posts. Under the social network’s privacy policy, they have the right to distribute and share the things a user posts, subject to their privacy and application settings. (Check out Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities here.)

The hoax doesn’t even have its facts right. A quick Google search will also show that there’s is no such thing as the Berner Convention. (Whoever originated it probably meant to write the Berne convention, which is an international agreement protecting literary and artistic works).

Keisha Knight FIRED from ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ for not Calling Bill Cosby

In the premiere episode of Celebrity Apprentice, Keisha Knight Pulliam was appointed as the female team’s project manager and fired for not calling Bill Cosby to help reach her goal.
Pulliam needed to raise money for her team for the Project Pie Face competition but choose not to reach out to Cosby for a donation. She contacted Russell Simmons, Ludacris and Tyler Perry (to name a few) to donate funds because she felt they could “deliver the quickest.” Unfortunately, her team didn’t make their financial goal and her teammates blamed the actress who once played Cosby’s adorable daughter Rudy on The Cosby Show for not contacting her famed television father. At the end of the competition, the team was evaluated in the boardroom meeting with Donald Trump, his fashion designer/businesswoman daughter Ivanka Trump and Piers Morgan. The spotlight was on Pulliam with the repeated question: “Why didn’t you call Bill?” The Vulture reports: –
