Sony is dropping its planned Dec. 25 release of ‘The Interview,’ the comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco that depicts the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The decision comes after some of the nation’s largest movie theater chains including Regal, Carmike and Cineplex said they were holding back or dropping ‘The Interview’ from screens in the aftermath of a hack that has ballooned from embarrassing disclosures for Sony Pictures executives to involve threats against theaters screening the film.

The rapper Bobby Shmurda was arrested today after a long-term investigation by the NYPD related to his possible involvement in shootings and narcotics trafficking. This is Shmurda’s third brush with the law in recent months, following charges for possessing a gun and drugs.
Kati Cornell, the director of public information for New York City’s special narcotics prosecutor, confirmed that the rapper was arrested in his car in the early hours of morning. According to official sources, he was arrested along with several members of GS9, the Brooklyn gang that also lends its name to Shmurda’s rap crew.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the Orange County D.A. made the motion to dismiss the charges. The judge agreed. Presumably the motion was based on new evidence, but TMZ has learned, authorities were well aware early on … this case didn’t hold water.
I don’t know if any prisons are already doing this but I’m talking to my homies about FaceTime with people in prison and the pros and cons that might help or hurt it it was available to inmates. Two of NY’s biggest Hip Hop representatives have now stepped up to lobby New York’s governor Andrew Cuomo to reform the state’s criminal justice system.
Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and Russell Simmons met with Gov. Cuomo on Wednesday. The governor’s office described the meeting as “a productive conversation” that included a discussion about assigning special prosecutors to handle criminal cases involving police officers. Many observers have criticized the idea of regular state prosecutors investigating the police, because the district attorney’s office and the local police departments work so closely together.

Cops were called after Princess Love called Ray and threatened to shoot herself. A short time later she called him back and said she would not go through with it.
As we reported … Ray broke up with Princess Love Tuesday night after a big fight. Now we know where he went afterward.
Ray went to a studio to shoot a New Year’s Eve special for BET. Karrueche was also on the show and Ray hung out with her until 4 AM. We got a couple of pics which show they were definitely getting along.
Diddy’s assault on Drake Monday morning was months in the making … because last June he told a packed nightclub in Miami that Drake stole his song … and then played it as if it were his own.
Diddy was at Story Nightclub in Miami Beach … performing with Mase. Diddy never mentioned Drake by name, but made it clear he was a thief.

The IRS paid more than $6 billion in child tax credits in 2013 to people who were not eligible to receive them, a government watchdog said Tuesday.
Payments went to families that mistakenly claimed the tax credit or claimed the wrong amount, as well as taxpayers who committed fraud, according to an audit by J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration.

Cam was seen on his back on the side of the bridge where the accident took place … grimacing in pain. Several people were seen tending to the 25-year-old QB.
We’re told Cam kept trying to stand up after the accident … but couldn’t … and eventually relented and waited for help to arrive.

Rapper Earl Hayes called Floyd on FaceTime Monday morning in a rage, over claims his wife — VH1 star Stephanie Moseley — had been unfaithful.
Earl said he was going to kill his wife. The champ was pleading with him to get a grip … to no avail. Floyd will not say how much he saw, but he acknowledges he was a witness and heard everything.
Floyd is in shock and is having extreme difficulty dealing with the fact that he witnessed a horrifying murder/suicide.
